Android Man does the last Ice Bucket Challenge

The Ice Bucket Challenge has been the rage this week, or was it last week? Either way I think the fad had run its course, and for us, the Android Man’s Ice Bucket Challenge is the last. In the video below Sascha explains that the concept itself is actually kind of flawed. The notion that having ice water poured over your head is a way to raise awareness for a charity or fundraising event is all well and good, but in this case the challenge itself has now eclipsed the original cause it was created to promote.

This may all sound a little harsh and maybe we should praise the efforts of people who are trying to raise awareness as well as cash, but the point Sascha makes in the video is that the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ is no longer an effective strategy, and could even to described as a form of ‘Slacktivism’.
