Google is said to also be working on a new messaging app, similar to WhatsApp. At least in the sense that you will not need log in with your account. It will likely work with your phone number.

This rumored messenger app is said to be in its early stages and could be launching in 2015. The Search Giant has been trying to enter the messaging market heavily. Rumors say they tried to acquire WhatsApp, but Facebook beat them to the punch. How can Google win the battle?

For starters, they do own Android, which give them a huge benefit. But that is not all they are depending on, it seems they want to hit the Indian market, which is an important country in the future of mobile.

Opinion: Do we need another WhatsApp? Will it succeed? It’s a very popular app across the world, and I think Google can really give Facebook/WhatsApp a run for their money.
